How to keep French Manicures from chipping?

Question by : How to keep French Manicures from chipping?
Last time I got one, my fingers started chipping the day of. It was so frustrating. Any tips on how to prevent this problem and keep french manicures looking nice?

use a lot of clear coat. i was obsessed with clear coat,i put sooooo much on when i tried to get it off it wouldnt come off!!!

I’ve only have gotten regular manicures, never a French manicure. Does a French manicure last longer?

Not really.
Some french manicures have a better sealing agent but I doubt you’d notice much difference.

In the game Second Life, I play the avatar Juushika Redgrave.

This outfit is one that simply fell together, and I’m incredibly pleased with the result. It is another example of my pechant towards mixes Last Call/PixelDolls/Shiny Things—something that I should remember to deviate from for my next outfit. The skirt is from Last call, which I modded to exaggerate the tiered effect, making the front shorter. I usually tend towards blacks, because they go with everything, but I love the natural richness of brown and other nude colors—and the brown skirt inspired me to carry the colors through. The leotard is a wonderful, and still available, freebie from PixelDolls. It comes in pink, which doesn’t suit me at all, but luckily it tints well; here I tinted it a medium gray to make it a pinkish brown color. The corset, which is one of the staples in my inventory, is from Last Call. I wanted to wear the gloves from the beginning, and luckily for me even though they are black the rich texture and highlights allow them to mix with brown clothing. The biggest problem I had was finding shoes—since I often wear black, my brown shoes are in short supply. These are from Shiny Things, and even though they are labeled as black the texturing once again makes them quite brown.

Red hair and nude/brown tones don’t always go well together, so I rooted through my inventory for an updo that would pull my hair up and separate the two colors. This one is from ETD. I usually avoid heavy bangs, but they gave a loose, romantic touch to the outfit. Because the bangs almost completely cover one eye, I modded my glasses to make one of the lenses perfectly clear and only wore prim lashes on one eye, eliminating any potential alpha flicker. Alpha flicker is my biggest complaint with SL (even more than lag, but that’s only because I’ve given up on that one), and so I take pains to avoid it when I can. The back of the leotard opens up prime bare skin for tattooing, but in this case I preferred 3D, rather than tattooed, wings. This pair is from Sh*t Happens and is now available in one of the freebie boxes. I modded them smaller and tinted them so that the white halo on the alpha was a subtle creamy brown to match the rest of the outfit (even if it’s not visible in these shots). The leotard brought out the pink in the lips on my skin, and the delicately shadowed eyelids matched perfectly. To complete the look, I shot my photos upstairs at Chouchou, surrounded by flowering trees and a misty lights. I’m very happy with the outfit and had a great time wearing it.

PixelDolls has always been one of my favorite stores, ‘though I will admit I liked their precise, bright outfits from their old line more than the softer items they sell now. Anyway—as much as I try to mix up what I wear, I can’t help coming back to PD again and again. Here I’m wearing the Lucie dress, which has a simple one prim skirt and wonderful buckle detailing. To make it a bit more modest I wore it with tights, which were Easter freebies from G.L.A.M. The shoes are from Shiny Things, and I never seem to have enough chances to wear them so I was quite glad they matched this outfit.

As before, the hair is the Keri style from ETD with modded bangs—sometimes when I get a hair style perfectly adjusted to my taste I’m loathe to take it off. The necklace and ring are both favorites from Paper Couture, and the necklace has been modified to remove the oversized diamond.
